The refurbishment involved the last floor of a Listed Building in Queen’s Park built in 1901. Due to the extremely old building and the new layout of the apartment, the whole roof structure has been consolidated and reinforced where was necessary. Everything has been stripped out and rebuilt following the new idea of the project: donate new life and light to a very old and dark apartment.
A new electric system with corrugates pipes has been installed to guarantee a high level of maintenance and the flexibility to expand the system in the future. A new generation of extra-slim underfloor heating has been also put in place to give the best thermal comfort. The use of innovative materials like colored micro-cement has been associated with reminiscences of the old apartment to create a unique and contemporary style.
